Video Game News

Apparently, contrary to previously posted news, the upcoming Japanese Dreamcast Vampire Chronicles will not be a collection of the three Capcom Vampire fighting games, but a new Vampire game featuring characters from Vampire, Vampire Hunter and Vampire Savior, along with new characters, and the ability to select a fighting style from any of the previous three games. Vampire Chronicles will be released on August 10 for 4,800 yen, for sale only through the Japanese Sega Dreamcast Direct website.

Squaresoft’s upcoming adventure/fighting game The Bouncer will be released on Playstation 2 DVD-ROM simultaneously in Japan and the US later this year. The game will be in DVD format, and players will have a choice of either Japanese or English for the game’s voice-overs and subtitles. The game, with character design by Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy series, Parasite Eve, and Brave Fencer Musashiden), features story and battle scenes, both of which can be controlled by the player, and slow-motion and camera movement inspired by The Matrix.
