Update on Domestic Chrono Trigger & FF4 Soundtracks

According to The Gaming Intelligence Agency, the upcoming Tokyopop releases of domestic version soundtracks for Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger will be slightly different than their Japanese versions.

The Final Fantasy IV soundtrack will feature all the music from the game, as well as an additional arrangement of the “Love Theme.”

The domestic Chrono Trigger soundtrack will essentially be the Japanese Chrono Trigger Playstation Version soundtrack, originally released in 1999, minus most of the arranged version tracks from the Japanese CD. The Playstation version soundtrack is a sort of “greatest hits” collection that condenses the 3 disc original Super Famicom version soundtrack into a single CD.

Both soundtracks will include “bonus materials and extras,” though what form these will take is currently unknown. The FF IV and CT soundtracks will be available on August 21 and will each retail for $14.98.
