Two New Shoujo Anime Announced

The current July issue of Dessert magazine has formally announced the development of anime adaptations of Robico’s shoujo romantic comedy manga Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (“The Monster Seated Next to You”) and Kanae Hazuki’s romance magna Suki-tte Ii na yo (Say “I love you”). Both ongoing manga series premiered in 2008. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun revolves around a high-school boy who presumes that a female classmate is his friend after she delivers his homework assignments to his house. Suki-tte Ii na yo revolves around a boy that claims to be a shy girl’s friend after the girl kicks him following a misunderstanding.

Anime studio Brains Base will animate the Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun anime. Hiro Kaburaki (Kimi ni Todoke) will direct.
