“Sega announced today that 20,000 limited edition copies of Shenmue will be released along side the game’s normal release. An extra disc comes with the limited edition release and holds several music tracks from the game. Only fans who pre-order the game will receive the limited edition music disc. Shenmue is set for release on November 7.”

Sega of Japan has just revealed a new Dreamcast 4X memory card. The new VMU will hold 4MB of data in 800 blocks, 4 times the storage capacity of the current Dreamcast VMU. The Memory Card 4X will not include a D-pad, an LCD screen, or a timer feature, though, fueling speculation that Sega is discontinuing support for downloadable VMU mini-games. The 4X card will be released in Japan on December 14th for 4800 yen. A version of the VMU will also be included in the limited edition release of Phanstasy Star Online on December 21st. A US version of the expanded memory card has not been announced, but Japanese VMUs are compatible with the American Dreamcast.
