Two Ghibli Museum Shorts No Longer Exclusive

New York City’s Carnegie Hall will screen the Hayao Miyazaki directed 2006 short anime films Yado-Sagashi (House Hunting) and Mizugumo Monmon (Mon Mon the Water Spider) in a special one-day only screening at 6:30 and 8:30pm on March 26th. The two short films have previously only been screened seasonally at the Studio Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan. The 12 minute long “House Hunting” and 14 minute long “Mon Mon the Water Spider” are both unique in the respect that neither film includes any spoken dialogue. Both film illustrate their stories entirely with imagery. The exclusive screening will be part of the JapanNYC festival that runs from March 14 through April 9.

The $15 ticket price may seem steep, but it’s a lot less than a plane ticket to Tokyo.
