Synch Point in Search of Voice Actress for Dejiko

Synch-Point, in association with Broccoli, has announced that they are in search of an English language female voice for Dejiko, the main character of the Di-Gi-Charat anime TV series and mascot of the Japanese chain of Gamers anime stores. An American dub voice is required to portray Dejiko for an American TV commercial to begin filming in mid-July. Dejiko, Puchiko and Rabi~En~Rose all work for the Gamers store in Akihabara, Tokyo in their effort to become idols. Synch-Point is searching for a voice that emulates Dejiko’s Japanese voice- Cute and sweet, but with the ability to be mean with selfish overtones. The ability to sing is a must. If you think you have what it takes, compare your voice to Dejiko’s Japanese voice by listening to voice samples on the Synch-Point site. (For those unfamiliar with Di-Gi-Charat, the cat suit wearing 10 year old Dejiko always ends her sentences with her distinct version of the Japanese sound for a cat’s meow, “nya.”) A demo tape with resume and photo may be mailed in, and final auditions will be held at AnimeExpo July 5th & 6th at the Long Beach Convention Center.
