Several Anime Films to be Submitted for Oscar Consideration

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Millennium Actress, Pokemon Heroes, Patlabor XIII, and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie are all being submitted as candidates for this year’s Best Animated Film Academy Award. At present, the AMPAS has not yet determined whether this year’s Academy Awards will include a Best Animated Film presentation. And if the category is included, not all films submitted may proceed to the official nominee phase.

The Hollywood Reporter has also confirmed that the Animatrix segment Final Flight of the Osiris is being submitted for Best Animated Short.
