New Anime Film Announced for US Release

A post to the AnimeNation Forum by a representative of Japanese company Inter Asset Japan Animation Ltd. has revealed that plans are underway for an American and European release of the upcoming anime film Guilstein. The full digital action/horror film is based on a manga by Tamaki Hisao, best known to Western fans for his manga adaptation of Star Wars: A New Hope. The film features script supervision by Monkey Punch, the creator of Lupin III, and a soundtrack performed by Japanese pop band ATP (Adenosine Tri-Phosphate). According to the post, the film will be released to Japanese theaters, “in a couple of weeks,” and is scheduled for American release later this summer, apparently in a subtitled version, with European distribution possibly to follow.
