Pioneer News from Anime Boston

Pioneer announced their acquisiton of distribution rights to the Haibane Renmei TV series at last weekend’s Anime Boston convention. Pioneer also confirmed distribution rights to Mahoromatic season 2.

Pioneer is the official American distributor of the Japanese live-action historical fantasy film Onmiyoji. Onmiyoji and the Sakura Wars movie will be receive American limited release theatrical exposure.

The first Lupin the 3rd movie, Mystery of Mamo, will be re-released in America, for the first time on DVD. This time by Pioneer. The film was previously released in America by Streamline.

Heatguy J will be released in America on 7 DVDs at $29.98 each. DVD 1 will also be released in a $34.98 edition that will include a second disc of supplemental material and a box designed to hold DVD discs 1-3. DVD 4 will also be released in a $34.98 version that includes a collector’s box designed to house DVD discs 4-7.
