Phantom of Inferno TV Anime Announced

Reportedly the January 2009 issue of Newtype Magazine, which goes on sale in Japan on December 10th, will include confirmation that Bee Train is developing a TV anime adaptation of Nitroplus’ visual novel game Phantom of Inferno. Phantom 〜Requiem for the Phantom〜 will be directed by Koichi Mashimo, who has plenty of previous experience helming girls-with-guns anime including Noir, Madlax, and El Cazador. Yousuke Kuroda (Demonbane, Gungrave) will compose the series’ scripts.

The game was previously adapted into a 3 episode OVA series in 2004. Media Blasters released the OVA series on American DVD in 2006. The original game was released in America by Hirameki International in 2002.
