Original Dragon Ball in May

FUNimation has announced that 26-28 episodes of the original Dragonball TV series will debut on the Cartoon Network sometime in May. The official announcement is somewhat unclear on whether the new episodes will include a new dub and new edit of the original 13 episodes or if the new broadcast will begin with episode 14. The official press statement says, “Long time fans will please note this is NOT the 13 episodes that originally aired in 1995, but an all-new version, truer to the original story line. The new episodes feature the early adventures of Goku, as he encounters the Dragon Ball cast for the first time. Never before seen, these episodes are already in production.”

The new episodes will feature an entirely new voice cast. FUNimation will be posting voice actor audio samples on the official Dragonball Z homepage soon. Visitors will be able to listen to the samples and cast votes for the voice talent they believe should perform each role.
