Live Action Citizen Police 69 Movie Announced

The Nikkan Sports newspaper reports that a live action feature film based on Kimio Yanagisawa’s two volume drama manga Shimin Police 69 (The Citizen Police 69) is now in development for a spring 2011 release. Director Ryuichi Honda (Dance Till Tomorrow) is wrapping up principal photography now. 51 year-old actor Toshiya Sakai (Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar the Movie) stars as an average salaryman recruited into the “Citizen Police 69” anti-crime organization. The original manga was serialized from 2001 to 2006.
