Kiyohiko Azuma Explains Absence of Yotsuba Anime

Azumanga Daioh and Yotsuba &! manga creator Kiyohiko Azuma has published a blog post to dispel Japanese rumors that tensions between he and Azumanga Daioh anime TV series director Hiroshi Nishikiori or voice actress Tomoko Kaneda are the cause behind the absence of a Yotsuba &! anime adaptation. Azuma explains that there is no conflict between himself and either Nishikiori or Kaneda, and that the reason why his Yotsuba &! manga hasn’t been adapted into anime lies in the difficulty of translating the manga’s quirky pacing and storytelling style into animation.
