FUNimation News from Anime Boston

At last weekend’s Anime Boston convention, FUNimation announced its acquisition of distribution rights to the Kodomo no Omocha anime TV series. And there was much rejoicing.

The Blue Gender movie, Blue Gender: The Warrior, will be released to domestic DVD on July 20th. The film is a re-telling of the TV series with an alternate ending.

The “lost” episodes of Dragonball GT (original Japanese episodes 1-16) will be released this summer.

Sonic X will debut on domestic DVD in June.

Beyblade G-Revolution (Japanese season 3) will debut on domestic DVD in July.

Case Closed (Detective Conan) will debut on domestic DVD in August. The Japanese language subtitle track will be an accurate, faithful translation free of Americanized name changes.
