Fairy Tail x Rave OAD Announced

Manga creator Hiro Mashima has announced that the 39th collected volume of his Fairy Tail manga will be released on August 16. Limited edition copies of the book will include an exclusive DVD featuring an exclusive anime episode cross over between Mashima’s current Fairy Tail manga and his previous fantasy/adventure manga Rave. The OAD will pair the series’ heroines Lucy & Elie to search for the missing series’ heroes Natsu & Haru. The OAD is an expanded adaptation of a cross-over manga story Mashima published in 2011. Mashima is writing new scenes for the OAD adaptation and personally supervising every aspect of the OAD’s production.

The 1998 Rave manga received a 51-episode anime TV series adaptation in 2001. The ongoing Fairy Tail manga premiered in 2006. Its 175-episode TV series aired from 2009 until last month.
