Domestic Monkey King Miniseries

Variety Magazine has reported that a two-part mini series based on the Chinese Monkey King legend, which gave rise to Dragon Ball and countless anime and video game characters, is currently filming in Prague. Robert Halmi and Hallmark Entertainment are producing the project which will air next February on NBC. Robert Halmi is the producer responsible for countless TV miniseries such as the recent Arabians Nights, Alice in Wonderland, Cleopatra, the classic Lonesome Dove, and the TV series Farscape. The live-action miniseries, which stars Thomas Gibson and Bai Ling in the lead roles, will feature characters like Big Demon, Spectacles Demon, Nine Inch Nail Demon, Pointy Head Demon, Confucius, Jade Emperor, Shu, Wu, and Pigsy.
