Director Hisayuki Toriumi Dead at 67

Veteran anime director Hisayuki Toriumi passed away on Friday. He was 67. Toriumi is best known to anime fans as the director of Tatsunoko’s Gatchaman television series. Toriumi also helmed anime productions including the Space Knight Tekkaman and Wonderful Adventures of Nils television series, and the Salamander and Sohryuden OVA series. Toriumi also worked along side Mamoru Oshii on the development of the first anime OVA, Dallos.
