Mushi Pro to Animate Suminokura Ryoi Biography

Mushi Productions has announced its development of a historical biographical anime film tentatively titled “Yume wa Hatou wo Koete – Tenmei ni Ikita Otoko: Suminokura Ryoi” (Dreams Surpass the Surging Waves – The Man Who Lived His Destiny: Suminokura Ryoi). The film will illustrate the life-story of famous 16th and 17th-century Kyoto merchant and shipper Suminokura Ryoi and his son Suminokura Soan. The film is targeted for a 2014 release to coincide with the 400th anniversary of Suminokura’s death.
