Chocolat to Get Taiwanese Drama

Reportedly Eisaku Kubonouchi’s 1999-2003 shoujo manga Chocolat will get a live-action Taiwanese TV adaptation next summer. The thirteen 90-minute episodes will star Japanese actress Masami Nagasawa, speaking Chinese, and Taiwanese actor Lan Cheng Long in a story about a Japanese woman who begins working at a cake shop owned by a former yakuza. The series will tentatively air in Japan, China, and other Asian countries after its initial Taiwanese broadcast.

The manga was adapted into a live-action Japanese TV series in 2003 starring Chihiro Otsuka.
