Your Anime House Invitation

The Florida appearance of the touring contemporary Japanese art exhibit “My Reality: Contemporary Art and the Culture of Japanese Animation” will open at the Tampa Museum of Art this Saturday. The public event begins its 8 week engagement at 9 PM Saturday evening with an Anime House party featuring screenings of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. Anime episodes and music will be played in various galleries. Anime music videos will run continuously the whole night, projected thirty feet wide on the outside wall of the museum courtyard and visible to downtown Tampa. There will also be an anime art competition and models will be mixing in the crowd wearing anime inspired fashions provided by International Plaza’s On the Edge. Special guests include representatives from AnimeNation and Nummy Sushi Cosplay presenting a Sailor Moon cosplay stage show. Admission to Anime House is $5.00 for museum members and $10.00 for non-members.

During the exhibit’s eight week run in Tampa, other events will be take place, including anime film festivals, lectures, workshops, and an Anime Family Day, featuring costumes, art activities, and anime video. All anime video events during the eight week exhibit and special guests in attendance at the opening gala party, Anime House, will be provided and arranged by AnimeMetro.com, Gundamwing.com, and Escaflowne.com.
