Yen Press has announced its acquisition of four new Japanese print titles: Puyo’s The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan (Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuutsu) manga, kakifly’s K-ON! manga, Fumi Yoshinaga’s Not Love But Delicious Foods (Ai ga Nakutemo Kutte Yukemasu) manga, and Mizuki Nomura’s first Literature Girl (Bungaku Shoujo) light novel.

Puyo’s super-deformed gag parody of the Suzumiya Haruhi novel series was adapted into a 2008 web anime series by Kyoto Animation. Kyoto Animation also produced last year’s anime TV series adaptation of kakifly’s bishoujo slice-of-life comedy K-On!

Fumi Yoshinaga’s 2005 manga guide book Not Love But Delicious Foods covers the author’s picks of gourmet foods and Japanese culinary destinations. Yoshinaga is best known in America as the creator of manga series including Antique Bakery, Gerard & Jacques, and Ooku.

Mizuki Nomura’s Literature Girl novel series about a mysterious high school girl who literally devours pages of literature and the teen author who satiates her hunger has been adapted into an anime OVA and an anime feature film that will open on May 1.

Yen Press also announced its acquisition of translation and publication rights to French artist Émile Bravo’s picture book Goldilocks and the Seven Squat Bears.
