Wizard to Publish Anime Magazine

Wizard Comic Magazine is attempting to catch a ride on the anime bandwagon with its upcoming one-shot magazine Anime Invasion, the pilot issue of what may become a regular, ongoing publication.

Anime Invasion will have a major emphasis on DVD thanks to an “Anime DVD Buyers Guide” featuring the top 50 anime titles available on DVD, and a feature on DVD “easter eggs” (hidden features). The premier issue will also include a feature article on the restored Akira, interviews with top anime creators including Masamune Shirow, who talk about their new projects that will be appearing over the next year, and coverage of other anime titles including DBZ, Sailor Moon, Transformers, Gundam, Pokemon, Trigun, Street Fighter, Ranma ½, and Escaflowne.

The upcoming magazine will have two different covers, one featuring an American Dragonball illustration and one featuring a “Sailor Moon Toonami” cover. The magazine will retail for $4.99 and be available on news stands everywhere.
