Voyager Entertainment to Distro Starblazers 2199

Voyager Entertainment will begin accepting pre-orders for six-volume DVD and Blu-ray release of “Star Blazers 2199,” an official American release of this year’s Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 television series. Xebec and director Yutaka Izubuchi’s remake of the 1974 Uchuu Senkan Yamato television anime was released on Japanese Blu-ray with optional English subtitles in a 7 disc release. Domestic pre-orders will open on the 19th. The first disc will be released on February 27, 2014. A price-point has not been revealed yet. The domestic discs will offer English and Spanish subtitles, evidently with Japanese names faithfully translated except for the name of the titular space battleship, which will evidently be translated “Argo” in the subtitles.
