Voice Actor Takeshi Aono Hospitalized

74-year-old voice actor Takeshi Aono is presently hospitalized due to a stroke he suffered after undergoing surgery for aortic aneurysm. Veteran voice actor Bin Shimada (Ken Nakajima in YUA, Yuda in Fist of the North Star) will temporarily play Aono’s role as Tomozou Sakura in the ongoing Chibi Maruko-chan television series beginning with this week’s episode. Reportedly the Fuji TV network is considering hiring substitute voice actors to play Aono’s roles as Kami-sama in the current Dragon Ball Kai and Mihawk Juraquille in the ongoing One Piece television series.
