Viz Manga Announcements

Due to licensing problems, the serial translation of CLAMP’s X/1999 manga will be suspended from Animerica Extra beginning with Volume 4, Number 5. The Viz licensing department is working toward returning the serialization to Animerica Extra beginning with Volume 4, Number 9.

In response to massive fan demand in the form of letters and an internet petition, as of February, the original Dragonball manga translation will be labeled as suggested for readers aged 13 & over and will be uncensored. Several months worth of the preceding manga translations of Dragonball had been re-drawn to censored mild nudity in response to complaints from angered parents.

Dragonball graphic novel 4 was issued in uncensored format, and collected volumes 1-3 will be re-printed in uncensored form with the “13 and up” label on the cover. The censored versions of graphic novels 1-3 will not be reprinted.
