Viz Announces Kamikaze Girls Release

Viz has formally announced its acquisition of North American distribution rights to the Kamikaze Girls franchise. The award winning live action film will screen at the New York Asian Film Festival and Los Angeles Film Festival later this month. The film will be released to domestic DVD in January 2006, followed by the publication of an English language translation of Novala Takemoto’s original novel, Shimotsuma Monogatari, which inspired the film, and a translation of the Kamikaze Girls manga series.
