Viz Announcements from Katsucon

Viz has acquired the translation rights to “Gundam Origin,” a new version of the original MS Gundam manga adaptation and the second Tenchi Muyo manga series that premiered in Japan last September. Viz has also restored their translation rights to the X manga.

Barring a television distribution deal that would delay the home video release, the Inuyasha TV animation will debut on American home video in August with 3 episodes per $24.95 for the first “season” of 27 episodes. Variables including 4 episodes per DVD and a $19.95 price are also (mutually exclusive) possibilities.

Viz has licensed the popular children’s TV series Tottoko Hamutaro, a series about what hamsters do while their owners/masters are at school.
