Update on Leiji Matsumoto Anime at Cannes

The Japanese Yomiuri Newspaper has reported details of the Leiji Matsumoto produced anime to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18th. “Interstella5555 – the 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem,” will be an hour long expanded movie music video adaptation of French techno-pop group Daft Punk’s album “Discovery.”

Matsumoto produced 4 anime music videos based for the Daft Punk songs “One More Time,” “Aerodynamic,” “Digital Love” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” The Interstella5555 movie will enhance these 4 videos with footage covering the other 10 tracks from the Discovery album.
