Update on Anime Sequels

According to Anime on DVD, previous reports that character designer Toshiro Kawamoto confirmed plans for a new Cowboy Bebop TV series were incorrectly translated. Apparantly there is no new Cowboy Bebop animation currently in the works. Kawamoto and much of the Cowboy Bebop staff are, though, at work an an entirely new, non-Cowboy Bebop related animation production.

It has also been reported elsewhere that Madhouse studios is at work on a new series of Trigun anime entitled “Gundrive.” Last Thursday, though, in a public message board post Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow personally confirmed that this rumor is false and that Madhouse is not currently at work on any new Trigun anime.
