Upcoming Dark Horse Comics Manga

This November Dark Horse Comics will be releasing the graphic novel collection of Shadow Lady 10-19 (Eyes of a Stranger #3-5 and The Awakening #1-7), entitled The Awakening. The 184 page volume will retail for $15.95. The 88 page Digimon: Digital Monsters trade paperback will retail for $9.95.

Dark Horse Comics has announced a date for their release of the first of six trade paperback volumes of the Akira manga. According to Studio Proteus, who re-translated the manga, the books will be in a nearly identical format to the original Japanese release (the “phone books,” as some fans call them). The translation of the word balloon text will be based on the Marvel version with some changes, but the sound effects will be from the European black and white edition. Unlike the colorized Marvel release, the new Dark Horse release will be presented in the original black and white. The first 364 page volume will be released December 13th for $24.95.
