Time Magazine Interviews Japanese Musicians

Time Magazine has published an extensive feature on international pop music. Articles of particular interest to anime fans include interviews and profiles of Hikaru Utada and Mamoru Samuragoch.

Utada Hikaru current attends college classes at Columbia University in New York City, but is also Japan’s most popular J-pop star. Her 1999 debut album First Love is Japan’s best selling record of all time, and her recently released second album Distance, is on track to sell equally well.

Mamoru Samuragoch is the nearly totally deaf composer responsible for the video game music from Bio-Hazard (Resident Evil) and the stunning score to the Playstation 2 samurai action game Onimusha.
