Takeshi Kitano’s Zatoichi Announced for DVD Release

Bandai Visual has announced that Takeshi Kitano’s award winning samurai action/drama film Zatoichi will be released to Japanese DVD on March 11th. The DVD will contain the 120 minute long film, “making of,” staff and cast interviews, and optional English subtitles, all at a retail price of 3,800 yen.

The film has been licensed for North American release by Miramax, but there’s been much speculation over whether the film will ever see American release, and in what condition.
