Sunrise to launch Internet Service

Anime production company, Sunrise, famous for Mobile Suit Gundam, has announced a joint venture with Finest Communications and NTT PC Communications. The group will start a new internet service provider business that features more than 160 animation titles produced by Sunrise. The demo site for the project opened on August 22nd under the name “Hinobori.net!” The Japanese-only homepage at present informs users about the upcoming online content and services to be available from this November. The hub of the online service is a membership system that allows users to have e-mail addresses with domains like rx-gundam.net, z-gundam.net, escaflowne.net, cowboy-bebop.net, and hundreds of others, all featuring Sunrise’s anime titles, character names and various robots and mecha. In addition to the anime mail addresses, Sunrise is also planning to operate an e-mail service that includes various character images and an online store for the sale of anime multimedia.
