Spirited Away Nominated for 4 Annies

Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away has been nominated for 4 “Annie” awards in the 30th annual ASIFA-Hollywood Annie Awards. Spirited Away has been nominated in the categories of “Best Theatrical Film,” “Best Director,” “Best Music,” and “Best Writing.”

Although Spirited Away has already won numerous international film festival awards, in the race for American International Animation Film Society Annie Awards, the film falls far behind American animated films including Lilo & Stitch (10 nominations), Monsters, Inc. and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (8 nominations each), Treasure Planet and Ice Age (7 nominations each).
