SHAZNA to Disband

Japanese rock group SHAZNA has announced plans to disband in March 2009. According to vocalist Izam, the group’s three members have been unable agree on a future direction for the group, so they decided last month to break up. SHAZNA formed in 1992. The group’s song “Pureness” was used as the theme song for the 1998 sixth Crayon Shin-chan motion picture, which Izam also briefly appeared in. The song “Piece of Love” was used as the opening theme for the 1999 Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne anime television series. Izam also appeared as an actor in one episode of the live action Sailor Moon television series.
