The trailer begins with a reference to 4 films. In Japan, the Sakura Wars movie was shown with the Azumanga Daioh movie, Di-Gi-Charat movie, and Slayers Premium movie. The trailer also refers to Captain Oogami being away. The film is set in Japan during the events of the Sakura Taisen 3 video game when Oogami Ichirou is in Paris, France.
