Results of 2004 Tokyo Anime Awards

The following are the major results from the Tokyo Anime Awards, presented during last weekend’s Tokyo International Anime Fair.

The Korean animated film “Africa a.F.r.I.c.A,” a 10 minute film about African nature and enviromental problems, won the Grand Prix award among films submitted in open competition.

Animation of the Year: Gundam Seed
Best TV Anime: Astroboy, Gundam Seed, Fullmetal Alchemist
Best Theatrical Anime: Tokyo Godfathers, Nasu ~ Andulusia no Natsu
Best OVA: Animatrix (special edition), Macross Zero
Best Foreign Animated Film: Lilo and Stitch
Best Director: Kon Satoshi
Best Script: Aikawa Shou (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Best Background Art: Ike Nobutaka (Tokyo Godfathers)
Best Character Design: Hirai Hisashi (Gundam Seed)
Best Seiyuu: Paku Romi (Edward in Fullmetal Alchemist)
Best Music: Kanno Youko (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex)
