Project:13 Initial Funding Unsuccessful

In its initial round of solicitation for public funding, only 77 contributors pledged $9,139 out of a $390,000 goal to create Siwa Production and Studio 4°C’s original anime Project:13. Project:13 is American record producer Greg Penny’s effort to create a trilogy of five-minute original anime music videos animated by Tokyo-based Studio 4°C. The project has reportedly received “commitments from outside parties that will help… with a portion of the production resources,” and is planning to relaunch a second funding campaign “with a more doable goal” in the near future.

As a vocal and aggressive supporter of the anime industry, I’m disheartened to see that only 76 people besides me volunteered to contribute any money at all to the production of an original Studio 4°C anime. Folks, lets put some money where the mouth is.
