Various retailers are reporting that they have received copies of the Princess Mononoke DVD, but cannot release it until the 19th, its official release date. Some releases by anime publishers are allowed to slide, but retailers do not want to risk violating the street date of a large company like Buena Vista for fear of being cut off from future Buena Vista home video releases.
