Pokemon Slump Possible Cause Layoffs

Collectable trading card game manufacturers Wizards of the Coast have confirmed that approximately 100 employees have been laid off in a company reorganization. Hasbro, the parent company of Wizards of the Coast, has had a bad year with slumping stock prices. Recently Hasbro agreed to sell its Hasbro Interactive and games.com divisions to the French company Infogrames. According to industry reports, “faltering sales of Pokemon trading cards could push the company into the red.”
