Nearly ten-year-old domestic alternative comic publisher PictureBox has announced that it will cease publishing at the end of the month. Company founder Dan Nadel reports that due to personal life circumstances, he is unable to continue operating the company. PictureBox has published English translated vintage manga including Shigeru Sugiura’s Last of the Mohicans and Osamu Tezuka’s The Mysterious Underground Men, and Japanese alternative manga from artists including Seiichi Hayashi and Yuichi Yokoyama. The publisher is presently selling its remaining inventory at 50% off.

Hmm. I just purchased a copy of The Mysterious Underground Men two weeks ago.
