Petition to Recall Defective Bandai DVDs Established

In response to the recent release of several defective anime DVDs from AnimeVillage, a fan petition has been established to urge Bandai to recall these discs. Gundam Wing TV series volume 5, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Special Edition, Outlaw Star collection 2 and Don’t Leave Me Alone Daisy disc 2 all display errors ranging from not playing certain sections of the discs to being totally unreadable, especially in DVD players manufactured by Pioneer, Toshiba, Sony and Phillips. Bandai has issued a notice offering to replace these discs for consumers whose discs do not work, but because the disc pressings themselves are defective, replacement copies will also be defective. Bandai has not yet announced any plans to re-press corrected versions of any of these DVDs, but until the existing discs are recalled and new pressings are manufactured, many anime fans will be unable to watch these anime DVDs, and many consumers that have already purchased these discs will be forced to keep defective discs or return them for a refund and go without. If you would like to urge Bandai to correct their error, add your name to the petition.
