Original Gundam Canceled

Contrary to earlier reports, apparently as of yesterday the Cartoon Network has canceled the broadcast of Mobile Suit Gundam just a week before the 43 episode series would have naturally come to its final episode. From now until October 1st, the Afternoon Toonami broadcast will consist of original Dragonball from 5 PM until 6, and Dragonball Z from 6 PM until 7. As of October 1st, the MS 08th Team OAV series will be added to the afternoon Toonami line-up.
