Official Region Free PS2?

According to an unconfirmed report on The Magic Box, Sony will release the Asian version of the Playstation 2 to countries including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore in July. The Asian version PS2 will include an instruction manual printed in multiple languages and will feature region-free DVD playback capability since so many Asian release movie DVDs are manufactured without region code restrictions.
