Noboru Ishiguro Dead at 73

73 year-old director and producer Noboru Ishiguro passed away on Tuesday, March 20, at 5:45pm in a Kawasaki City hospital. Ishiguro founded the Artland anime studio in 1978, created the original concept for Megazone 23, and directed numerous landmark anime including the Yamato & Macross television series, the Macross: Do You Remember Love motion picture, Orguss, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, 2008’s Tytania, and the 2009 Pattenrai!! Minami no Shima no Mizu Monogatari biographical anime movie.
