New Manga Publisher Debuts in America

Plex International Design, one of Japan’s leading toy design and TV planning companies, has announced plans to enter manga publishing by premiering full color original manga titles in America before their Japanese release. Plex was responsible for the creation of the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. They have also done design for popular properties such as Gundam, Digimon, Masked Rider and Ultraman. Plex’s first manga offering will be Angel’s Wing, written and illustrated by Plex toy designer Tetsuya Aoki.

Angel’s Wing will go on sale this July. The 80 page full color one-shot will cost $7.95. A special preview edition of Angel’s Wing will be available at Anime Central, held from April 19-21 in Chicago. Mr. Aoki will be attending the convention as a guest to promote his manga.
