New Manga Announcements

Based on commercial listings from Amazon and Borders, Viz has acquired the domestic translation rights to four new manga series:

Legendz, by Daisuke Higuchi. Volume 1 available March 1, 2005
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, by Masashi Kishimoto. Volume 1 available April 5, 2005
Hunter X Hunter, by Hurohiko Araki. Volume 1 available April 5, 2005
Eyeshield 21, by Yoshihiro Togashi. Volume 1 available April 5, 2005

Viz has not officially confirmed these acquisitons or releases.

Dark Horse has scheduled the English language release of Katsuya Terada’s Monkey King manga for April 27, 2005. The stand alone volume will retail at $14.95.

Central Park Media will release the first volume of Young Hee Kim’s Korean comic series Masca on February 9, 2005, and the first volume of Sook Kim’s Korean comic Zzim! on February 16, 2005.

AD Vision has reportedly canceled the release of Fantasy Land volume 2; Sky Blade, Sword of the Heavens volume 3, and Taimashin SP volume 1.
