New Information on Spirited Away DVD Revealed

Buena Vista has announced that the Spirited Away DVD will be released in Japan on July 19th, in three different versions. The standard version will be a double disc set retailing for 4,700 yen. First edition copies will also include a plastic model of Haku’s rice ball. The Collector’s Edition version will be the standard edition DVD set along with 3 theatrical movie posters, a copy of the booklet from the film’s premier at the Berlin Film Festival, and a 3D model diorama of the oil factory/resort and a model of Haku’s rice ball. The Collector’s Edition will be limited to 10,000 copies and retail for 15,000 yen. The Ghibli DVD Player bundle will include the standard DVD and a faux wood grain Studio Ghibli embossed DVD player. The DVD player includes a simplified remote shaped like an acorn and a second full featured remote control. The DVD player will support Region 2 DVDs, and the VCD and audio CD formats and will have S-Video and Composite video outputs, and coaxial digital and 2 channel analog audio outputs. The AnimeNation website will have all three DVD editions available as special order pre-order items soon.
