New Final Fantasy Announcements

The Nobuo Uematsu composed vocal theme for Final Fantasy X will be sung by Okinawan folk singer Rikki. Her homepage features Real Audio samples from her latest album for the curious.

Square Pictures has announced that two DVD home video versions of the upcoming Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie will be released. In addition to a standard DVD, there will be a version of the film released designed specifically for viewing through the Playstation 2 DVD player function. The PS2 version of the movie will feature limited interactivity. Viewers will be able to utilize the alternate angle functions to “render and edit certain scenes of the movie in real-time, though presumably without the full graphic detail of the original film.”

The official Final Fantasy movie page now offers a downloadable Windows and Mac compatible screen saver featuring images from the movie due in theaters this summer.
