New Detail on American Newtype Magazine

Digital Manga, Inc. has issued a press release announcing that Digital Manga and Kadokawa Shoten are moving forward with their plans for an English language print version of the monthly Japanese anime magazine Newtype. Digital Manga has hired Akadot.com editor Luis Reyes to oversee the domestic magazine, and Akadot will now have a small section in each issue of the domestic publication. Current plans are for the American version of Newtype to closely resemble the Japanese version in size, page count, and inclusion of a monthly wall poster, although the monthly domestic poster may not be the same as the equivalent month’s poster in the Japanese version. The majority of the content of the American version of Newtype will be information on the Japanese industry provided by Kadokawa, but the American version of Newtype will also cover the anime industry in America and internationally.
